in aftermath of deadly shooting @ texas church on november 5th, fbi , other law enforcement agencies failed ask apple unlocking shooter devin patrick kelley's iphone, reports reuters.

according source spoke reuters, fbi did not contact apple 48 hours after shooting, missing critical window iphone in question might have been easier unlock.

if iphone had touch id enabled, shooter's finger might have been able used unlock device. unlocking method have needed used within 48 hour window, touch id disabled after 48 hours have passed since last activated or when iphone powered off.

christopher combs, head of fbi's san antonio field office, said on tuesday shooter's smartphone being transferred fbi's crime lab in quantico, virginia authorities have not been able unlock it.

little known shooter's smartphone @ time. sources told washington post it's iphone, it's not known iphone nor version of ios it's running. it's not known if touch id indeed enabled on phone @ point.

learned the san bernardino case, apple not provide authorities tools unlock iphone, company can , provide icloud data if compelled court order. not known if apple has received court order asking icloud information.

after last time can see why. apple not willing out of ordinary unlock these devices , agree stance honest.

guy dead , motive pretty had grudge family member , acted alone doubt there's of evidence on phone leading larger conspiracy.

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fin...
