about month ago on iphone 6s+ running ios 11 weird issue started appearing in autocorrect whereby word 'is' get's replaced "i.s". after chat apple support on twitter suggested few things tried didn't work. took matters own hands , started extreme steps. knew had iphone x on way thought once arrives i'll ignore icloud backup , start scratch. said, 24 hours after owning iphone x, issue back.
spoke apple via live chat , stated turning known issue, 1 not , couldn't recommend steps solve other text replacment (which doesn't work).
far have tried following on both devices (every step has been followed hard reboot):
disabling predictive (never used anyway).
toggling autocorrect on , off.
deleting dictionary.
switching keyboard instead of uk.
deleting of apps , reloading them 1 one deleting , restarting after each see if rogue app.
deleting icloud data apps.
restoring backup.
setting new.
turned off siri suggestions every app.
deleting of contacts.
searching keychain word i.s , deleting results matched.
searched mail word matching i.s , deleted it.
updated ios 11.2 beta developer account after apple live chat suggested similar bugs under investigation (but hadn't heard of one).
disabled siri.
disabled emoji keyboard.
removed of email accounts.
nothing works. it's driving me insane. if random word fine, such core part of english language...i cannot cope , i'm far innaccurate (and busy) not use autocorrect.
has had similar problem? or can recommend new steps take? thing can't not use icloud account. there 7000+ photos , hefty music library attached , @me email address primary.
edit: phone never learn word "is" if dismiss replacement.
here's video made of issue in action:
when see pop i.s before hit space click x ignore autocorrect. meaning before complete word. after few times of doing that, relearn it’s want.
have trained learn punjabi words type time. wanted autocorrect them else clicked x ignore autocorrect 3 or 4 times before got hint. won’t autocorrect them anymore.
