i run geekbench on 2017 imac , cpu scores seem lower should be. ran test linked below, reflects average single , multicore scores imac gets. https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/6077846 clear, of right minor / non-issue since imac performing fine. i'll working on relatively light 4k video editing projects work month, , we'll see how goes. it's annoying seeing other imacs exact same configuration getting scores this , when i've received multicore score above 18k 1 time. set imac macbook pro time machine backup, , i'm wondering if possibly impacting cpu performance? reset pram & smc.   the scores can affected background processes may not realise running, ambient temperature in room affecting cooling , few other factors beyond control. benchmark scores trap easy fall — try not worry it, , concerned if limiting ability need do.

in last 6 months i've noticed significant sluggishness in performance of 2012 mba. chalked sierra/high sierra, downloaded ssdreporter out of curiosity , states drive @ 38% health, according app "warning threshold." can take seriously? didn't think 5 year old ssd degraded. there other way can check health of ssd? , if failing, popping new 1 in solve lot of performance issues?   sure can depending on usage patterns. apple's ssd high quality exceptional write endurance. 5 years of heavy writing wear 1 of them out. simple not having enough ram can cause heavy write use. computer paging data in , out of ssd free ram. if have 4gb ram. it's time upgrade new computer. 4gb doesn't handle anymore. can have single tab in chrome uses on 1/2 gb.   Forums Macs

(i don't live close apple store) placed in drawer, flawless , has never been dropped. got out , started it. screen unresponsive. turning off had hold top button , home button till turned off. had 3 times till if started worked. played around it, upgraded newest ios see if issue. turned off put in drawer (in box) 2 days later got , restarted have exact same issues of unresponsive screen. makes me sad still love se , pretty being pink. i've had macbook 12" retina 2015 on year (bought in 2016), , past 2 weeks, it's been shutting off randomly, , starting up. then, past weekend, tried starting up, , nothing worked. plugged in, nothing, no sounds, nothing! went , bought new cable, , charger thinking solve it. nope. contacted apple support, tried resetting smc , others, still not working. brought book genius bar, , tried 4 chargers, , 4 different cables. said may usb-c port, if not that, possibly logic board. now, applecare expired in june 2017. i'm sol. have experience situation occurred? what'd fix it? don't have $800 spend have logic board/usb-c fixed (as estimate given apple). might take , buy new macbook.   id sell , new or refurbished laptop.   Forums Macs Notebooks
