i sadly getting ready sell 2011 macbook pro due lack of use. work computer , phone/ipad see of time these days. past weekend created profile on laptop , used migration assistant move of files over. has 250gb hard drive , should more sufficient files have since utilize lot of icloud storage. - music folder 38.47 gb , stored directly on hd. - both have our photo libraries on cloud "optimize storage" selected; however, still show each of ours taking on 30 gb piece. seem right? can't see how optimizing storage. - "documents" folder in below screenshot 37 gb, have no idea contains. accounting photos , music folders in other categories , there hardly in documents folder. feels system double counting storage here. *i have attached screenshot showing storage , manage detail.* have run diskwave see if more detail. shows music , photo libraries stored in user folder. have attached scan of hd. seems off isn't using entire 178 gb

i have photos.app photo library on mac 178gb. had synced icloud until couple of months when stopped syncing properly. fix this, tried disabling icloud photo library (on devices), rather delete photos icloud account, left 36gb worth on photos on there. tried re-enabling icloud photo library, icloud claimed didn't have enough icloud storage space have 200gb , said library 178gb, had 36gb used remnants of broken library (i.e. 178+36>200). disabled iphoto library again , time left month photos on icloud permanently deleted, , storage space appeared again free. re-enabled, , left sync, stopped when reached 36gb (the same got 'stuck' in there before). tried calling apple support , suggested go icloud photos via www.icloud.com , delete them manually, when realised way of doing one-by-one, 2500 photos, didn't bother. instead created new, empty photo library, set system library , synced icloud - cleared out 36gb. however, when reverted pr

i don't know if issue software, hardware or router having quite few issues 13" tbmbp last year. wifi super slow quite , disconnect completely. 1. if leave reconnect on own when disconnected can take ages reconnect if turn wifi off , on again reconnect instantly. 2. wifi slows utter crawl @ times. taking 1.5mb down instead of 60mb. if turn wifi off , on again come speed while before getting sluggish again. have tried software fixes can find online deleting networks, plist files etc , nothing works amount of time. have google wifi router if makes difference. macbook coming end of warranty if hardware issue seen before that. ideas or has else had issue before?   for starters, other devices on same wifi experience same problem, or mbp?   Forums Macs Notebooks
