with few days off, started messing around surround sound in our living room, have in-ceiling speakers installed previous owner. hadn't done besides quick initial setup when moved in. have older sony audio receiver option 2-channel or optical in, atv3 setup hdmi atv3 television, optical audio television audio receiver. pretty sure 5.1 sound working based on movie playback, wanted sure, found dolby .mp4 video file test sound, imported itunes on computer, , streamed apple tv. when video supposed play on (surround right , left) speakers, never played in either of speakers when supposed to. knew speakers wired correctly because receiver can produce test tones correctly in each speaker. after searching, found home theater speaker check ios, fired on atv3 via airplay, , speakers performed expected. of course i'm happy i'm getting 5.1 sound through appletv3 (at least supported apple, such movies rented apple). technically, problem solved, , should

hi, have real strange problem speakers on 15" tmbp mid 2017. after resume sleep, (which how use 90% of time, shut lid , sleeps) , play videos youtube, audio, sound switch mono , sound muffled. doesn't matter browser happens in both safari , chrome. reboot fixes it. until next time resume sleep. when issue occurring, launch itunes , play music, start off in stereo, switch mono. doesn't matter if streaming music, or local files. know whats going on? , how begin diagnose this? accessibility setting "stereo mono" not selected. don't recall happening when got machine, since updated high sierra think. --- post merged, jan 3, 2018 --- ok did smc, , nvram reset, same result. think issue persistent after reboot, shutdown/resart. sound starts off stereo , changes muffled mono. if plug earphones in, sound fine in stereo. when unplug them i'll few seconds of speakers sounding in stereo, change muffled mono

i took apart 15'' imac g4 in order clean out dust , repaste heatsinks, inadvertently caused serious issue while repasting. saw youtube video involved removing bracket holding heat pipe on processor in order repaste processor, not unnecessary paste on processor still liquid, seem have damaged bracket. not stay in 2 slots in logic board holding in place more few minutes. assumed bracket permanently held in place when computer reassembled, shortly after rebooting smelled burning plastic odor. shut down computer , saw bracket had fallen off , new thermal paste on processor brown. i've tried bending bracket in various ways stay in slots securely again nothing seems work. don't know how fix short of buying new logic board or replacing imac entirely, not seem there part number bracket in service manual. appreciated.   wild geese said: ↑ i took apart

okay, it's not actual product, , it's not you'd call elegant, works. bought 2015 mbp when released. on 2012 mac mini, had on 500 gb of content (including photos , itunes music, excluding dvd rips , other videos). couldn't afford mbp 1tb of storage, , 512 mb wasn't enough, went 256 mb base model. past couple years, kept data , media files on external hard drive. whole point of having laptop computer, though, portability , convenience, , having external drive dangling off side convenient. true when sitting outside on deck chair. i'd have use lap desk enough room mbp , hard drive. thought getting owc 1tb internal ssd upgrade, @ $649, couldn't justify it. , hit me: velcro! i'd purchased 1tb ssd crucial mac mini. replaced 128mb ssd , created fusion drive. put 1tb ssd sabrent usb 3.0 enclosure, applied strip of velcro mbp , drive enclosure, , voila! when need connect other peripherals, pop mbp vertical henge dock base station. agai

need thoughts on this. after having keyboard issues 2017 15" mbp (and 2 replacements) decided go 2015 15" in hopes apple revise 15" mbp resolve reliability issues. hate keyboard in general. reliability top priority me , business. ordered refurb 2015 2.5ghz/512gb/dgpu apple on weekend $1949. when browsing ebay found same model lightly used in excellent shape (6 cycles on battery) apple care mid 2019 $1599. $400 savings (considering tax). there no way know how old/used is. decided better deal , canceled 15" refurb , apple going reroute them , refund sale. looks didn't reroute delivered. considering keeping refurb, should new , eat return shipping on 1 ebay (i might reroute sender). priorities have clean machine reliable 18-24 months. apple store 30 minutes away , work keeps me busy trip there hard outside of weekend. while amount of video editing, of work podcast production. business expense. do?

what difference between using time machine backup computer , creating "clone"? have never used time machine , don't understand advantages offers over, carbon copy cloner (ccc). thanks.   time machine itterative, means doesn't make single clone. instead, keeps track of differences. let's backup 300 gig drive. first time, makes clone in sparsebundle. delete 5 files , add 3 new. time machine add 3 files backup , keep deleted files well, separating backups dates keeping old files still exist in both dates newer 1 aliasses old backup doesn't take 2x space. can extract single old version of file or entire drive or anywhere in between moment tima machine has been running. can't boot time machine backup though, since structure isn't same drive itself. holds data isn't structured drive itself, whereas clone name suggests, intents , purposes identical source.

i hoping has gone through same issue myself. have been using family share years without issue. have few apple tv's in house , have logged in account access our purchases. however, children getting older , making purchases consolidate, leads bigger problem. think no longer appropriate them have access password since use mail, our account credit card, etc. best way set our family share @ point? create dummy icloud account , use sign apple tv? make dummy organizer? if can consolidate movie purchases under id show on apple tv. understand family share can go each account , find purchased movies, them show under purchased on apple tv regardless of account. maybe not possible, if others have gone through please share how have handled. thank in advance advise.   Forums Apple and Apple Services Apple Music, Apple Pay, iClou

bit miffed right now, has had dealings returning phone bought apple uk , getting replacement ? there waiting list? woman on apple support line had no idea short of stock of tens haha pretty clueless... cant tell me after sales closed now, need wait call tomorrow let me know. wifi isn't working properly, keeps dropping , getting 169 ip address. have tried resetting networks, setting new, using ipsw not set new itunes , beta , same. reset router , reserved ip address phone. still drops out randomly , displays 169 ip . need turn wifi off , on , works , manages address. doubt end have few apple, windows , android devices working fine. fingers crossed have stock , screen decent, 1 perfect   have tried resetting network settings?   Forums iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch iPhone

this not right/wrong thread.. intent provide people on fence either feedback or comments based on experience devices.. own 8+ , love it. before phone 6s+ favorite iphone. initially, in no way interested in x. didn’t notch images on information superhighway. did not losing 7mm of screen width. did not idea of buying apple’s first oled. didn’t.. , don’t idea of faceid. have spent 2 hours comparing phones @ local apple store , here thoughts.. in concise rambling form... prefer weight of x on 8+. haven’t lifted in while bet can hang or best people here.. isn’t i-am-too-weak-to-hold-my-phone-up comment.. x feels nice , balanced in 1 hand. prefer brightness of 8+ on x. tried everything.. disabling/enabling auto-brightness.. 8+ seems brighter. turned on/off true tone.. apple employee did not agree me , @ angles x looks brighter straight-on.. 8+ seemed have edge. prefer text on screen of x. more crisp. can tell difference. thought interesting @ smallest t
