weird situation. happens on netflix , no other app. netflix spin little red circle , not play. deleted app, signed in, rebooted etc. still spins red circle in netflix app. playing around , switched 5ghz band 2.4ghz. , bam! netflix streams 4k perfectly. no issues. switch 5ghz , spins red netflix circle. every other app works fine.   how 5ghz signal strength? device running netflix on? generally, best use ethernet connections when possible. instance, if netflix running on appletv4k, , can connect atv wired network @ 1gbps, there little fear of interference, weak signals, or other factors can deteriorate wifi performance. 5ghz vs 2.4ghz should irrelevant application long wifi signals solid. netflix 4k should use 20-25mbps of bandwidth, connection method job. maybe there flaw in netflix app on whatever platform running on, if so, report netflix can address it.

i use imovie video editing , in large part have been pleased it. i'm not pro , personal videos , occasional wedding video family. however, starting shooting video in 4k , finding imovie laggy on 2012 mac mini (16gb, 1tb ssd). so, looking alternatives allow proxy files , additional edit features such multiple tracks, better color adjustments , better/more transitions. essentially, wanting go beyond imovie offers while maintaining ease of editing like. i've tried several alternatives including: premiere pro (nice, don't want monthly payment), devinci resolve free version (price right, hardware req's not met mac mini it's practically unusable), fcpx trial , couple other open sources ones. clear winner here fcpx. works great on mac mini editing 4k files. hardly notice slowdown @ all. has other features i'm looking for. hangup price. so, before jump in 300.00 thought i'd ask if there else out there comes close fcp less money

hello everybody, need cause i'm getting mad here!! mid-2012 mb pro became incredibly slow (for example open picture took 3 minutes more or less) thought damage 500 gb internal drive hard drive (after 6 yeas of usage seems reasonable me). important documents external drive , bought new seagate 500 gb perform clean installation. when start mb pro new hard drive installed takes 10 minutes boot in order display restore options page (the 1 disk utility etc..) , when start installation of os bar moves (like pass 17 minutes remaining 15 takes more 20 minutes). i've tried erase , format new disk twice, , tried install both high sierra , after yosemite, neither 1 working. after few hours on installing page error saying "installation not performed on computer, please restart". beside hd, cause of such lost of performance? thank in advance. best, filippo   the sata hdd cabl

i have 1 of 2011 15" mbp's have had graphic card repaired on extende warranty apple offered couple of years ago. however, started show various lines , stuff, when working in photoshop , indesign. restart, , worked again. , came yesterday... doing work , screen got dark. heard working though, , after while went sleep refudsed wake up. did hard reset, , first thing on built in screen horizontal lines show (photo attached)... progress bar shows though, after while computer shuts down, or eventualy stops grey background no more progress. - when grey background shows, lines disappears. - when start in terminal mode, line disappears. - *not* able start in recovery mode or on sierra or high sierra start usb. - *am* able start in target mode (with lines still showing). - have backups on icloud drive , on local drives, , can reach files on target mode, no worries there. so. me seems parts of graphic card works. maybe internal card works, not exter

if quit install app says theres no system on hard drive start from, doesnt give errors. says installing, restarts , ground hog day. id guess 2010 or 2011 macbook cant check cant start up. advice appreciated   how installing? running downloaded installer app? reinstalling macos recovery system? i've never understood relationship between nominal speed rating , turbo-boost of intel processor. 8-core imac pro rated @ 3.2/4.2 , imac i7 @ 4.2/4.5. specs think i7 faster imac pro tasks don't use of processors. experience know it's not simple. example: when bought 2014 imac i7 (4.0/4.2) expected faster mac mini (2.6/3.4), isn't. when run handbrake, mini runs 4 cores full time @ 3.4 ghz, it's boost speed. imac, however, after short time slows to 3.8 ghz, slower it's nominal speed. it's faster mini, not as had expected. wonder: when processors run @ nominal speed versus boost speed? realize @ point there's no way know imac pro do, based upon how these processors behave, can expected? hello all, might have strange problem, write might, because not sure if meant be, or if bug. problem revolves around timestamps on pictures taken on vacation. phone connected wifi localy, time on phone local , aware of in world. find problematic, when using phone take pictures in dubai, timestamp gives me correct local time, fine , good. after coming home europe, time shifts in phone, show local time, @ time photo taken. but, , more strange, when looking @ exact same photo on mac, gives me time dubai, ???? nr 1. why phone adjust time photo, depending on when looking @ allready taken photo? nr 2. why mac os , ios show different times, cant ge head around it, , wonder if doing wrong, or if strange feature meant be??? please advise if normal or not? best regards fredrik   Forums iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch iPhone

17,1 imac, macos 10.13.1, fusion drive w time machine backup external thunderbolt connected 1tb hfs+ external hard drive. updated high sierra on imac fusion drive couple weeks ago, not apfs. hs time machine continued backup fusion drive external 1tb hfs+ hard drive until last night when message “the time machine drive no longer available backup.” using hs disk utility, mounted 1tb external backup drive. had reformatted 1tb backup drive apfs, , incompatible backing main high sierra fusion hfs+ drive. did not instruct imac reformat external hard drive. did instruction reformat apfs external drive come from? why system decide format external backup apfs?   hard answer because there many possibilities. might able find reason looking @ logs via console application. unfortunately apple "improved" way logs used in sierra , high sierra. may not easy find relevant information try searching c
