i've bought wavlink usb c usb 3 4 port hub. under impression use thunderbolt port usb c , more usb 3 ports way (used 4 on imac). whilst ports mate, hub cable connector not fit. making wrong assumption here. need go usb 3 usb 3 hub , lose 1 of rear usb 3 ports?   i guess have this usb hub? hi, need buy external monitor macbook pro (13-inch, 2016). using graphic , web design mainly. looking @ 34" curved wide screen options online. can steer me in right direction on whether should go monitor usb-c connection? seem quite expensive , not widespread. or connectivity , performance not effected if go non usb-c monitor , adapter to pair macbook pro....??? suggestions appreciated...   my opinion only: display is, first , foremost, "good display", , wouldn't worry usb-c capabilities. there many more choices if don't absolutely require usb-c connectivity. prefer display is... personally never use own or people on forum’s experiences judge apple’s stuff, we’re not typical users. it’s friends , families have phones , want use them show it. weekend @ dinner friends taking pictures , wanted share them each other. surprise when swiped bottom of screen air drop toggle wasn’t there (as had been in ios 10, neither had planned update ios 11). proceeded spend ages looking ask me why apple got rid of feature. when said hadn’t, friends argued , said wasn’t there. took phone, 3d touched on controls , there was. didn’t know 3d touch never mind had use access basic feature. had not been there, they’d have believed feature gone , never used it. is, they’re less enthused new ios because, in words “why bother changing worse simple”. sad.   to fair, people not being used using new way of interacting doesn't make bad because of that.

i have small slow home network, isp verizon dsl (best isp can get), , running 3tb time capsule router bridged dsl modem. have few mac mini's connected through ethernet. run 2 of mini's headless. 1 main mac, other running osx server , plex, , last running windows 7 through osx , parallels. runs fine, ever once in while ip addresses changes. somehow windows 7 vm have static ip address doesn't change. don't care if rest of ip addresses change , don't need static ip outside house. isp slow that. there way this? networking newbie, think can figure out, need know start...   configure vm on bridged network. if have multiple nics on mac, select adapter bridge to. if select "default adapter", use first adapter based on system preferences. while you're configuring network on vm, take note of mac address under "advanced settings". on tc, configure dhcp re
