iCloud Music Library (Good news)

a few months ago started thread how icloud music library messing offline music collection. i'm happy report got work on 3 devices, keeping metadata , custom artwork (i use single covers classic songs have song , not album).

please note these personal observations, success may vary , if value offline music collection make backup in case apple music messes up. said, these steps took.

1) enabled icloud music library on windows 10 desktop.

2) deleted duplicate songs. think helped metadata issues had before.

3) unified computer offline , icloud music collections either downloading or deleting stuff icloud music library not on computer. there still few icloud items not many.

4) saved icloud after changes.

5) enabled icloud music library on ipad. have 170 gigs of music on isn't primary music listening device. plus don't use iphone if had not use several hours resync isn't big deal. once went through "unification" process of metadata stayed same. found cause didn't , fixed it.

6) on surface pro use work (i own it) checked icloud music collection. have nothing downloaded on device, icloud only. wanted metadata wise.

7) primary listening device, iphone 8+ (same on device library ipad). enabled icloud music library on it. again complete success. instant changes when edited metadata or artwork.

1 issue far icloud apple music's version of tunes. on doors debut album no f-bombs jim on "the end". if have downloaded on device play version have. playlists bit problematic think got 1 licked (delete idevice, deleting , saving computer wasn't working).

hope helps someone. again if picky music me (i should lighten bit lol) backup.

 

are using apple music or itunes match? i’ve found former cause problems things fine match.
