Pixel 2 XL or S8+ for me? (first time android user)

i have used nothing iphone since week first iphone came out. have macbook pro, ipad, apple watch, , apple tv. never had reason leave iphone until now. 6s had battery problems. goes 100% 30% in 90 minutes , powers off somewhere around 20-30%. genius bar claims battery fine , serial number of phone isn't 1 of phones willing recall. plus buggy ios 11 (constantly having issue lock screen goes blank- no time, no date, no notifications) , little interest in new hardware (8 plus feels outdated, want wider screen x) making me consider android first time.

on t-mobile, plan switch carriers (verizon or sprint.) love of s8+. have read samsung bloatware can issue though, , switching carriers can pain (lack of wifi calling, having flash firmware on unlocked phone.) other option pixel 2 xl. hardware doesn't seem nice, software seems lot better. looking buy secondhand. can find unlocked s8+ around $500 , pixel around $650. android phones foreign me. suggest in situation?

 

you'll not clear consensus in thread since our different phones different reasons.

if in shoes i'd pixel , if don't use lot data per month i'd pair fi
