Apple Pay Transaction Limits (Canada)

well turns out @ least rbc has been lying me what, 3 years since apple pay launched in canada? professing had no transaction limits. well, put test when went buy iphone x apple pay on saturday. boom. declined.

rbc cs rep escalated security , shocked when told transaction limit $200. (so, i've been hounding vendors last 2+ years telling them limits bumped on terminals).

putting winter tires on suv today. think i'll apple pay cibc , see if have limit lying well.

such bs!!! time start hounding them!!! @ least secure chip+pin - why hell limiting our capability of doing away plastic cards? (especially rfid on cards makes them prone people walking around rfid scanners....scamming $100 @ time)

 

funny - think chatting in thread few weeks back. weekend new td visa have had chance test purchase greater $100 (but less $200 merchant's limit on tap pay). scotia visa using, did usual beep gave error.

you're right though. @ least secure chip+pin, if not more secure chip+pin if use 6 digit or great passcode on iphone.
