iPhone ICloud photo help


i have 10,000 pictures on phone. have them backed on icloud & on mac. question backed happens if delete them on phone make room?

getting ready new phone , don't need of them moved on i'm afraid lose them.

feedback?
 

my biggest quibble icloud photo library's optimized storage feature exact real world problem have.

if have lot of photos , videos, optimize storage may not free enough storage space. on average, each photo , video use 200 400 kb of storage. multiplied 10,000, or 2 4gb of storage. have 100,000 photos , videos, that's 20 40gb of storage.

ideally, optimize storage automatically free storage needed, alas, 32gb ipad incapable of storing minimal set of 3rd party apps , icloud photo library.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
