Has the iPhone now become the Mac?


observing years bifurcated iphone release, struck how familiar scenario was. @ wwdc 2012 apple announced new 15" macbook pro which, later found out, last ever model spinning hard drive , cd/dvd drive. after this, tim cook pulled "one more thing" , announced first ever macbook pro retina display, boasting all-new, thinner, lighter design incorporating blade ssds.

base-model price $2199 256gb of storage, bit of shock since same price previous high-end cmbp 1tb of (much slower hard drive) storage. new high-end config, doubled ram, faster processor , 512gb storage jumped price $2799. , if wanted go out, cough cool $3199 768gb ssd model. today's iphone x, many wailed outrageously high prices (the base cmbp still available $1799). still sold, , sold well.

in 2012, iphone 51% of apple sales, while mac 15%. yet, mac far more prominent product in apple's lineup today. current revenue mix 70% iphone, , 9% mac, it's not surprising apple giving iphone focus , prestige once belonged mac, , re-using 2012 rmbp script iphone 8/x.

upset iphone x pricing might comforted apple lowered price of rmbp's standard high-end config $200 (to $2599) in 2013, , $100 (to $2499) in 2014. here's hoping follow pattern iphone x.

seem iphone x apple's premium portable computer.
 

apple isn't going cheapen iphone x brand slicing price down next year. i'm expecting higher prices iphone x plus in 2018, , i'll first in line buy it.

Other Unknown error

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fin...
