Keychain on Maccbook Air, High sierra

i'm new mac, have macbook air running on high sierra.

(after web search), found can save passwords on mac's native keychain

ok use keychain on high sierra ? if not ok, else use ?

, if ok (to use mac's native keychain) , do's , don'ts additional safety while using keychain. understand if loose mac or loose admin pw, lot lost or pw lost. other these (loss of machine etc), else take care ?

have set each password entry "ask before using" , i'm manually , painfully setting ask admin pw before using specific pw entries

else ?

there global setting stop other apps (any other app) using pw entries ? don't mind being asked every time , being asked enter admin pw before use of keychain / pw entry

ps : keychain not on icloud. how ensure not there accidentally

i can't answer of questions since have avoided allowing keychain memorize trivial of passwords. instead give 2 cents , ask why have keychain passwords on device lose or have stolen? says can't happen can. same goes phone. on imac, might ok.
