2017 imac vs 2017 mpb? set up question.

graphic design student required own laptop coursework.
have gone , forth while trying figure out best setup me.

own mid tier 2017 27" imac. have stock 3.5ghz i5 24gb ram , 575 4gb card.
school have 2017 13 inch ntb macbook pro stock 2.3 ghz , 8gb , 256 gb storage.

while lot of money (and time ) spent on computers, trying figure out best setup money be.

graduating soon-ish , want last me going professional career.


question .. worth keep 2 computers ? or should return both , buy best macbook pro can money?

train of thought when want intense work work on portfolio want big screen. think 15 inch small me work on. why picked cheaper 13 inch computer smaller schoolwork.

see myself needing portable work in school.

furthermore, not have access imac having portable important me .

better own 15 inch computer?

 

entirely you. if you're going out working world though, planning on being self employed or working @ company? because company provide computer you, , expensive computer sat @ home collecting dust of time. if self employed you'll want laptop ease.

best laptop @ stage you'll moving around/sharing etc. laptop, , monitor , use desktop.

best advice though wait till start work , need something. no point spending 5k on later find out won't use. , same spending 2k on when needed 5k setup. have more ample , guess you're dreaming of tomorrow? wait, think laptop setup...
