iPhone Pokemon Go dimming while playing?

recently, last tuesday believe, pg started auto-dimming after period of inactivity regular apps save battery life. often, leave pg app open wait pokemon show up.

maps , videos not dim (they shouldn't) normal apps (like ig or fb) do. i've checked every setting can think of, reinstalled pg app, , finishing restore morning , still nothing. battery save inside pg off.

on ipad, pg not dim why put thread in ios 11 instead of apps. also, logged wife's pg account on phone , still dims. no 1 else in our household experiencing behavior.

i'm not 100% last tuesday don't think matters. playing pg on monday night doing raid battles , no issue. next day, behavior started.

there system setting i'm missing or something?
