Failing fusion drive on late 2012 iMac. Options?

today, before computer upgraded 10.13.1 noticed time machine had stopped working , throwing errors. after investigation found tm drive not mount anymore. pulled out diskwarrior , restored backup drive , tm working again.

good. because after disk warrior reporting imac's fusion drive failing smart , close failure. double checking disk utility same..

now, failing part of fusion drive ssd. 3tb hdd has been replaced apple under extended warranty. imac though long out of warranty being late 2012 model i'm not sure if ssd part covered (actually don't think anyway originally).

i'm wondering options are: i'm thinking this:

1) sell on flea bay , let other sap deal it. buy new imac. expensive , unethical (plus current port configuration)

2) take apple , let them fix it. expensive supported.

3) take other repair shop (not sure it....)

4) source ssd myself , follow ifixit's guide replacing ssd. sourcing part may tricky though they're proprietary believe. bigger 128gb?

5) scrap both 3tb hdd , 128gb ssd , replace single 1tb ssd. leave me having rework data maintain around 2.4 tb on internal drive along bulk of data on 15tb nas.

missing options? might do?

the cost effective , time saving method connect external ssd imac , use boot disk.
