Extend Macbook storage with Cloud storage

hello,

i'm running low on storage on macbook. photos app responsible 300gb out of 500gb.
looking easy , secure way extend macbook storage.

sync each , every photo/video stored in photos app cloud storage , delete them internal memory without losing them in photos synced cloud.

or alternative copy paste photos library cloud drive accessible via finder , delete photos library on macbook. consequence accessible cloud location.

hi,

assume you'll running sierra or high sierra on macbook, , have ample icloud storage available (like 2tb option).
if go 'about mac' (in top-left apple menu), , select storage, you'll see current usage (documents, photos, ...). if click on right on 'beheer' (or whatever english word be, chances you're running mac in dutch...), several options cleaning (by offloading icloud) mac - amongst top 1 - optimize photos.

don't start deleting photos, use above option - reduce disk usage having kind of thumbnails on local drive, , if wish edit picture, it'll download full resolution icloud.

alternatively, upload photos flickr (where 1tb free), , approach them via web on mac / flickr app on ios device, , have option of deleting them photos app / disk, loose icloud features.
