HELP! SCRIPTING ON ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR: duplicating image into grid?

hello everyone! design via illustrator scripting area of weakness... wanted ask if me write script template take image , duplicate grid. here example image:



start taking image , clipping circle shape. here, script need following:

1. duplicate 5x6 grid
2. export file .pdf format, printing on standard letter 8.5" x 11" paper

goal create script template works can image on computer. making grid manually thousands of images takes way time. can help? in advanced!

sounds sort of thing day living!

it's classic applescript task. i'd suggest getting copy of script debugger (you can run in trial mode month or so) http://latenightsw.com . makes lot easier head round object models, , find commands need.

have @ "duplicate" command. basically, need take page item (or group of page items), duplicate them, change coords of duplicated item.

best way export pdf (in opinion) set pdf preset in illustrator , call script.

hope that's enough started.
