Install older versions of apps with iTunes

so hate new version of itunes, how apps, books, , ringtones not managed way in past. i've got pretty handle on how transfer books , ringtones over, here's app issue.

getting updates apps. don't automatic updates. picking , choosing updates, using caution. because, on years, different models of iphone i've had, have noticed apps bloated , slow down. apps install features not like. , apps bought other companies , change.

if buy app phone, open itunes , download computer. take file , copy different folder. if update , update, download , archive that, deleting old, obsolete version.

method this: have app on phone. have same version of app in itunes. see update available on phone. update app on phone. give few days. hate it? no problem. delete version phone , re-install prior version still on computer using itunes.

bought app. works. it. opened itunes download have app paid , saved on computer. lo, there's no place download apps in itunes anymore.

might stupid, don't mind being, can tell me how download app on computer now? app store on mac? there way using windows (my preferred platform?) can do? do?
