Resolved iTunes on Mac skips to end of track before song has finished.

i think known problem people, searching forums can't locate solution, hoping may able help.

on tracks, itunes skip end of song prematurely. tracks affected, skip forward @ same time - itunes thinks songs shorter are. batches of imported songs seem more affected others e.g. on half tracks on take flight maya jane coles (excellent album btw) affected, other imports since have been fine.

-this bug occurs irrespective of how music played (laptop, airplay etc).
-none of tracks have bespoke "stop" time in options.
-all of music files stored locally on laptop.
-the files fine (checked qt/vlc).
-deleting files itunes , re-importing not solve problem.
-it might affect mp3's...? edit aac affected.
-the bug seems have first started after clean install of high sierra , restoring itunes backup.
-matched , uploaded tracks play correctly via itunes match on device (so local problem).

above, think corruption within "itunes library.itl". there seems discrepancy between actual lengths of tracks , itunes thinks locally.

short of nuking itunes library entirely , reimporting (with no guarantee solve issue) has come solution?

bug report has been filed apple.

macos 10.13.1, itunes 12.7.1.14

 

check see stop point isn't set wrong in track properties.
if that's not case, can full thing exporting , passing through audacity before reimporting,
