Will Time Machine work?


hi all,

macbook pro, have time machine set up. whenever come home, plug mac time machine hour allows 1 or possibly 2 backups take place. unplug it. sometimes, plug time machine overnight or entire evening. mac not connected time machine indefinitely.

still work? if wanted recover lost file or restore mac, possible using time machine set up? understand backups not made every hour , time machine backup not have changes made between last backup , time wanted recover file or restore mac.

know if leave time machine on when backup drive disconnected create local snapshots on computer. read this support page.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
