iPhone X Choppy Call Connected to Car & Headset via Bluetooth


phone: iphone x - ios 11.1

headset: jabra stealth or jaybird x3

car: subaru wrx 2017

this issue not occur iphone 6 running ios 11.1.

when place call both car , headset connected iphone x via bluetooth, call audio on headset distorted , drops out. sounds packet loss. when call audio routed through car fine. if disconnect car's bluetooth iphone headset call audio fine.

seems new bluetooth 5.0 stack on iphone x has issues. possibly having issues sending call status car while sending audio headset.

in case you're wondering:

why use headset when car has bluetooth? microphone in car terrible.

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
