Restoring Mac OSX Bootloader
recently dualbooted ubuntu 12.04 on ibook g4 test out. ran pretty bad booted osx , nuked partitions had ubuntu on it. every time boot computer still ubuntu bootstrap stage 1, except wont anything. can still boot osx pressing down on option key , selecting partition don't want that. there way rid of yaboot , put original apple bootloader without reinstallation?
you mount , trash yaboot hfs partition (possibly /dev/disk0s2?). check partition map “diskutil list”. delete yaboot files, reformat or delete partition, (returning free space).
alternatively, believe if re-select startup disk in system preferences , give reboot, override yaboot partition , go straight os x. if doesn’t it, reset nvram booting open firmware (cmd-opt-o-f) , then;
reset-nvram
set-defaults
reset-all
