Cannot type the numbers 1-9


i have mac book air 3 years ago. of yesterday not allow me type numbers 1 through 9. using on screen keyboard type them.

searched online fixes, , none of following helped and/or applicable:

- not have num lock or clear key
- not have separate number pad
- 'mouse keys' not enabled

there other trick typing numbers work again? onscreen keyboard not react when try type them on actual keyboard. there key combination disables numbers have accidently hit? not see online this.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
