Returning to High Sierra from Win 10/Bootcamp Issue

i running latest version of mac os high sierra , updated version of windows 10 under bootcamp.

when want go mac windows, click apple logo, select restart, wait chime, hold option , select windows. no problems.

when want go mac os, same thing - windows logo, click on power, click on restart, wait chime, hold option , select mac os. never finishes startup high sierra. no error, status bar gets stuck - waited on hour , half yesterday before holding power button.

however, if complete shutdown when on windows 10 side , use power button restart imac, goes fine.

have read support article high sierra , bootcamp/windows, since not using icon in system tray in windows, not/should not apply me.

suggestions?

when hear chime, press cmd+r enter macos recovery. open disk utility , repair macintosh hd partition. can fix boot issues.
