Apple Retail Stores display iPhone X at 100% Brightness


something surprised @ today when went apple retail store running iphone x's @ 100% brightness. checked 7 units , same. surprising since apple recommends auto-brightness , hides option toggle off deep in sub-menu along warning detrimental long term display health. asked store employee , said because retail store units wouldn't recommend own iphone x. chatted bit , seemed think 75% brightness okay (which set mine to) besides point. making display better setting 100% brightness while recommending auto-brightness , lower brightness levels in general seems bit of shady selling practice.

their phones, can whatever want. i'd imagine best under full brightness, plus stores pretty bright.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
