iPad Pro Downloading files to a NAS server? How to?

so, santa blessed me ipad pro , i'm loving far. last ipad had second gen, , leaps , bounds beyond thing. particularly love apple doing ios11 features geared towards making thing more productive.

anyways, meat of topic, i'm looking way download files local network drive have @ home. pdf's, video clips, etc. i've tried few browsers offer ability download. seem save files within specific app. , though ios has come along way, don't see way me access internal file directory pull them from.

think there big glaring tool i'm overlooking???

 

what kind of nas have? want use nas backup location files on ipad or cloud storage or maybe both?

have wd nas , use mine backups , use icloud cloud storage ipp.
