Why is it Apple computers today have no optical drive?


if thing happen how reinstall os on macbook pro?

no optical drive today on apple computers how reinstall os on macbook pro or macbook air on.

thing happen , cannot boot os or os corrupted.

or want fresh install of os after 3 years of use.

how reinstall os if have no optical drive?
 

put on usb drive. that's how i've installed os on pc's , mac's past 6 or 7 years. i'm not sure if don't have access mac , don't have copy of macos .dmg file on hand though. if worried, make bootable flash drive macos , keep somewhere.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
