Face ID - Horizonal iPhone

got new iphone x , jazz...

trying face id in car home, works in vertical mount arms length away face - no problem in low light.

however, place iphone horizontal dock/mount - tap screen - no unlock...

not ideal - me or has else had similar issues? find weird if example grab phone , go photo/video in landscape straight away.

face id not work in horizontal mode. limitation inherent sensor design.
