iPhone Podcast App on Watch (11.1.2 Bug)

hardware iphone 6 , 1st gen apple watch. use default podcast app , have ~30 follow through (i have seen other app recommendations have no desire switch since podcasts not show in other apps). there 2 ios updates iphone affected how iwatch worked podcast app.

first update (11.1.1 think) great. introduced ability skip 15 forwards , backwards , pause watch screen (this became default view when podcast app playing). lot, makes easy use of finger replay or skip ads if phone in pocket , unable reach easily, , use scroll volume control.

second update (11.1.2 sure) has undone brilliance. 2 issues present themselves. first, default view (when podcast playing) seems "now playing" app has red icon music bars. blank, play icon , greyed out fast-forward, rewind, , volume icons. did podcast app go , how can back? if hit play button asks pair apple watch bluetooth headphones (which had in past not have now).

second issue podcast app not register having completed download of new podcasts. new podcasts detected, , download circle increases around circle full 360 degrees, hangs , never registers having completed (perpetual download icon).

has else experienced similar issues new ios 11.1.2 update? if yes have found workaround it?

 

i happy these bugs fixed on back days past week, universe less chaotic.
