USB 3 to Thunderbolt 3 for portable monitor and MBP


i got new mbp 13 , use asus 168b portable usb 3 monitor work, got j5 create thunderbolt 3 mini doc, thought work connecting external usb monitor, apparently not have enough power monitor work.

have since ordered belkin superspeed+ usb 3.1 type-c micro-b cable tech @ bh told me should power asus monitor , should arrive friday. of fine folks use non usb c portable monitor newer mbp? recommendations on hub or cable power asus?

try , persuade boss approve new usb c monitor, though had beg plead month approval new mbp. need portable monitor work (i travel lot) i'm afraid i'll have return mbp...

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
