iMac 21.5 or 27 for development


curious other developers use lite development work in python, database , web development django.

@ present i'm looking @ 21.5" 3.0 8gb ram 256 ssd , thats 2gb of vram. 27" allot more desktop , power can confusing window did have open last , did put along co$t.

may simple video editing nothing professional or youtubeish.

i'm leaning towards top of line sell in stores 21.5" , have been told 16gb overkill i'd using computer for. have 21.5 3.0 on loan friend while computer being upgraded , nice computer, has 256ssd more fast enough also.

said "i'm curious, looking other opinion's" others may suggest or use day day

the 21.5" screen small imo. i'd buy base 27" ssd if can afford it. user upgradeable ram model if need upgrade later.

if it's expensive maybe consider refurb ones?

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fin...
