Apple TV 4K didn't "wow" me.

so excited apple tv 4k christmas in hopes stream movie , show content in 4k hdr didn't impress me (don't tell fiancé lol). have samsung 4k hdr 8000 series , thought able see content beautiful. apple tv automatically set display 4k hdr 60hz figured set wanted test out. downloaded apps , movies , shows through looked terrible , close standard definition. purchased couple of 4k movies through itunes , still wasn't impressed. 4k blu player looks better , netflix through tv apps. there need take full advantage or how is? hoping display awesome screensavers on apple tv. advice , input? thank you.

firstly, guess picture quality won't 4k bluray player , i'll honest itunes music, apple's itunes & atv has never had wow factor (picture & sound) it's still decent quality picture wise. still looks stream me casual viewer firstly
1. size tv?
2. have played around tv settings?

try setting 'match' settings on. here you'll correct frame rate - 24p film , correct hdr/sdr.
try , play tv settings . important set 'quick start' settings>apps>itunes movies , tv shows>quick start>on
if it's off, it's possible it's not playing in 4k.

lastly, films differ in quality. i've never had bad itunes film picture - but, used watching 4k bluray? i'm not, can't compare. last nights film christmas day family example. rented office christmas party itunes. picture sound bl**dy awful - highly compressed, extremely flat, dull , lifeless. whole time kept thinking - damn that's cheeky av guys on macrumors talk when mentioning dolby hd etc. apple needed shaming on 1 not good!

atv lovely streaming box , should give decent image. on 40" panasonic it's great on 65" may not nice - maybe screaming 4k bd.

wifi reliable? dropping?
