MacBook Pro partition failure and boot issues

hi ladies/gentlemen!

so, begin story, installed refind on macbook pro (a mid/late 2015 build, iirc), , installed linux on new partition (partition created during linux installation process) of 120gb ssd.

lot's of stuff happened between , now, i'm in situation can boot live usb (using key), or boot via internet recovery mode (cmd + r). if press nothing, i'm taken grub rescue screen (grub2 think, based on names of filetypes). i've run checks in gparted (linux's equivalent of diskutil), , checked via terminal in internet recovery mode re: partitions health , status, seems show they're past point of recovery. don't have use of sudo commands in internet recovery mode's terminal, sudo works in linux live usb's terminal. seem have lost recovery partition pre-installed on macbook when bought it. don't have disk drive, nor cd, reinstall from.

question is: if wipe ssd, either via diskutilility gui in internet recovery mode, or gparted on linux live usb, able still use cmd+r function on startup able reinstall os sierra via internet recovery mode, or lose use of command , option functions on startup together?

have feeling it'll easy fix, considering i'm not worried losing content of ssd, want hard reset. because don't have sudo privileges in irm terminal, i'm worried more complex. don't have macbook, reinstalling via isn't option unless pay professional me.

time, , if need more info' please let me know :) cheers!
