2008 iMac - No Display


i have 2008 apple imac turns on (i can hear fans spinning), doesn't show on screen, black. no sound either. have installed new ram (compatible - ifixit.com), no display still. have reset smc/pram, same result. ordered mini-dvi hdmi adapter can connect external monitor see if picture, update pending. other that, have other recommendations?

update: took apart imac , checked diagnostics lights , both 1 & 2 solid green when power on, 3 & 4 off. read, seems graphics card. know if can uninstall graphics card , still use imac or "have to" have 1 installed?

you need graphics card display anything. 2008 (have 1 myself) past point worth fixing. might find repair shop try fix it, apple not @ it.
