Security Update 2017-001 seems to have hung App Store Updates


hi all.

followed advice yesterday , tried install security update 2017-001.

clicked the 'install' button in app store updates last night 9.15pm, , twenty minutes later still showing 'installing-calculating' when had shut mac.

morning still shows same; 'installing-calculating', , think has become stuck somehow. (and may coincidental of course) mac has become incredibly slow morning, several second delay between keyboard , screen.

ideas please?

edit: sod's law has been applied... no sooner did post 2017-001 showing having been installed.

although, having said app store still endlessly 'checking updates' , showing 2 updates available on red badge in dock icon, 1 of had been security update, , mac still ever slow.

edit: security update showing having been installed twice in app store window, , running smoothly again. delete post if could.
 

reports there 2 or 3 builds of patch floating around. more people reporting installed 2x or 3x times.

patch appearently applies 10.13.0. maybe fixed file sharing issue ?

Other Unknown error

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fin...
