if i update macOS, will i reset display settings


hear me out. macbook screen has been broken while , dont have money repair (600+ euros)
screen doesnt work. black screen


im still able use cuz mac mirroring tv via hmdi. if display settings reset default(not mirror). wont able use macbook @ all.

im asking is. macos software update screw display settings?
 

i don't think would. major macos updates keep settings intact.

in event change it, press cmd+f1 mirror display again. if goes terribly wrong think it's possible reinstall macos using external display.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
