Beware of Apple Store Berlin Repair Diagnoses!
i writing warn berlin based residents think twice before taking computers apple store on kurfürstendamm repairs. in november last year encountered problem 17" 2011 mbp not being able hold wi-fi connection more minute or two. after leaving computer in hands of "geniuses" @ apple, received quote repair repair @ cost of €626.58 including labour. "genius" told me wi-fi antenna faulty , particular part comes pre-assembled lcd display, hence astronomical quote repair. declined repair , used usb wi-fi receiver last year until happened upon information bluetooth airport flex cable @ fault. giving part cost 16eur, thought worth try , after swapping old cable out have functional wi-fi connection again.
think apple wanting charge me sum 40 times greater necessary alone mind-boggling. said, if had been willing pay sum, have installed new display , realised diagnosis incorrect? find nothing lousy, apple's own genius staff poorly trained/undersupplied, unable correctly diagnose problems simple @ can considerable expense customer.
