MBP 2017 shutting down when connecting projector


i'm ict-teacher @ school , bought couple of mbp's autumn teachers, of them have been getting problems when using usb-c vga adapter connect them our projectors. when computer either goes blank or restarts. 1 of them laptop kept on rebooting until removed adapter even.

1 else had problem, tips on how solve it?
 

i haven't been in situation describe can imagine 3 things consider.

1.) these genuine apple adapters (usb-c vga) or third party products? there may compatibility/quality issues.

2.) have check make sure projectors have latest firmware?

3.) version of macos these macbook pros running?

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
