New MacBook processors questions


i have mid 2013 1.3 ghz air. these new macbooks have 1.2 ghz apu. step 4+ year old mac?

new apu have better graphics retina displays , that’s it? should pro upgrade old laptop?
 

as learned in processor wars of many years ago, megahertz, gigahertz, doesn't mean when you're comparing different architectures. processors in macbooks better. well, depending on do. if push 4 threads might not notice difference, @ single threaded , boost multi-threaded tasks, macbook cpu way better. uses way less power, has better media blocks video codecs , such , support more instructions can benefit specific workloads.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
