Quick question Re: Apple holiday return policy

i bought iphone x on november 19 , right @ on 14 day return window. however, based on seeing @ online apple store, apple’s holiday return policy applies items purchased in store or online after november 10, , extends return period until january. don’t see exception policy iphones – i.e. exception apply more limited 14 day return window iphone bought after november 10, if opened.

i’m considering returning at&t model verizon model – input on whether reading return policy above correctly, such can wait , buy verizon phone , return at&t phone sometime later in december? there no verizon phones in stock locally today, , wouldn’t want return phone today make 14 day window , without phone until came in stock or have 1 delivered online store.
