waiting in line @ apple store x tips?

plan wait in line friday morning in local apple store, happens inside shopping mall. i've never waited before, plan buy x. live in small city population of 500k scattered over, big , congested san jose, san fran or la. how should there? read apple store opens @ 8 am. not sure how should approach since store inside mall. i'm thinking maybe there between 5-530
 

call apple store see how they'll handle line day. last thing want first in line outside mall , last in line once mall doors open , there scramble apple store. that's how work in area @ least.

@ apple store on 14th street in manhattan, there 6 tents of people in line.

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
