a message our customers iphone batteries , performance
we’ve been hearing feedback our customers way handle performance iphones older batteries , how have communicated process. know of feel apple has let down. apologize. there’s been lot of misunderstanding issue, clarify , let know changes we’re making.

first , foremost, have never — , never — intentionally shorten life of apple product, or degrade user experience drive customer upgrades. our goal has been create products our customers love, , making iphones last long possible important part of that.

how batteries age
rechargeable batteries consumable components become less effective chemically age , ability hold charge diminishes. time , number of times battery has been charged not factors in chemical aging process.

device use affects performance of battery on lifespan. example, leaving or charging battery in hot environment can cause battery age faster. these characteristics of battery chemistry, common lithium-ion batteries across industry.

chemically aged battery becomes less capable of delivering peak energy loads, in low state of charge, may result in device unexpectedly shutting down in situations.

should go without saying think sudden, unexpected shutdowns unacceptable. don’t want of our users lose call, miss taking picture or have other part of iphone experience interrupted if can avoid it.

preventing unexpected shutdowns
year ago in ios 10.2.1, delivered software update improves power management during peak workloads avoid unexpected shutdowns on iphone 6, iphone 6 plus, iphone 6s, iphone 6s plus, , iphone se. update, ios dynamically manages maximum performance of system components when needed prevent shutdown. while these changes may go unnoticed, in cases users may experience longer launch times apps , other reductions in performance.

• early in 2018, issue ios software update new features give users more visibility health of iphone’s battery, can see if condition affecting performance.
• as always, our team working on ways make user experience better, including improving how manage performance , avoid unexpected shutdowns batteries age.

thank god lawsuits against apple knew did wrong thing , accepting wrongs we're hoping fix in ios 11.3 version amen !
