Apple Now Allowing Developers to Offer App Pre-Orders

apple implementing new feature allows developers offer pre-orders unreleased apps, letting customers purchase popular apps ahead of release date.

pre-order feature listed in new itunes connect resource , document, discovered afternoon macstories. document says developers able "make new apps available pre-order on apple platforms."

apple outlines specific steps developers need take list app pre-order, includes navigating pricing , availability section of itunes connect, choosing "make available pre-order," , submitting app review.

made available pre-order, app must have release date @ least 2 days in future, no more 90 days in future. pre-orders available both free , paid apps.

when app pre-ordered, on release date, it'll automatically downloaded customers device. paid apps, purchase price charged when app released, not before.

our sister site toucharcade points out, there 2 apps available purchase using new pre-order feature. both gorogoa ($4.99) , inside (free) can pre-ordered app store ahead of release coming later week.

apple today announced general availability of introductory pricing subscriptions, allowing developers charge less first few months of auto-renewing subscription. feature introduced in ios 11.2.

OWC Envoy Pro SSD Enclosure - Alternatives?
