MacBook Pro 15" - problems in cold weather

hello,

news , sports photographer, using macs since 1996, , had strange situation few days ago:

covered soccer match on open pitch, temperature near 0 celzius (32 fahrenheit) , wet , foggy, not rain or snow.

used macbook pro 15" approx 30 minutes (before in backpack) , ok. after next half-time of 45 minutes, @ end of match tried start up, after 30 seconds, went off dead, showing red battery on zero. forgot charger @ home, , when got home, connected charger, laptop started , battery level 67-68 %.

strange me latest hi-end mbp doesn't work on not cold weather. it's reasonable reduce battery life on cold, happened few other colleagues wit macs too.

any idea, problem , how solve ?

the minimal operating temperature laptop 10 degrees c. humidity not good. if not within parameters, can happen. if find in such situations, maybe should system designed work in low temperatures.
