1st Gen iPod Touch Not Working With iTunes (Won't restore / Unknown Error (1)


i have 1st generation ipod touch 32gb (had new)

few months ago had problems itunes not recognising , did internet research led me try extract it's software (can't remember did exactly), it's not helped problem.

thought i'd have go @ trying sync itunes.......

time connected itunes, itunes recognises ipod, , message box pop-up saying ipod in recovery mode , 'must restore'........ press 'restore' , along top (where artist / song title displayed) itunes says "extracting software" ....soon afterwards message saying 'the ipod not restored. unknown error occurred (1) ..... , that's far can go!


when tried few months ago, getting message pop-ups saying .... 'itunes not connect ipod touch "scoot65's ipod" because invalid response received device'

, .....

'itunes not contact ipod software update server because not connected internet'

these messages didn't appear time.

charging port seems work ok, plug ipod in (using wall socket) , starts
charging.

got ideas problem , how resolve it?
i'd appreciate help.

Other Unknown error

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fin...
