ultimate ears known line of rugged, waterproof speakers come in bright colors , offer high-quality sound @ prices aren't exorbitant.
in october, ultimate ears expanded product lineup 2 new flagship devices, blast , megablast, successors boom 2 , megaboom, revamped designs and, first time, wi-fi support amazon alexa integration.
tested new ultimate ears speakers, , liked addition of alexa integration, in wire-free device. there were, however, limitations , caveats may not make best speaker everyone.
design
blast , megablast don't too different previous-generation ultimate ears speakers, sport new, more modern design flatter top , less rounded edges decidedly cleaner , sleeker appearance.
use same cylindrical design past speakers, offering 360 degree sound. top , bottom of blast , megablast feature soft rubber material bluetooth/power/alexa buttons , access charging port, while of rest of speaker made matching mesh.
both speakers continue feature prominent "+" , "-" buttons used controlling volume. people don't these buttons because of resemblance cross, i've been fan of bold , easy-access volume controls. speakers each come in range of colors, including blue steel, merlot, blizzard, , graphite. megablast have on hand blue steel, while blast merlot, , both colors subdued , elegant, able match decor.
