Apple Refurb or Lightly Used w/ Apple Care?


need thoughts on this. after having keyboard issues 2017 15" mbp (and 2 replacements) decided go 2015 15" in hopes apple revise 15" mbp resolve reliability issues. hate keyboard in general. reliability top priority me , business.

ordered refurb 2015 2.5ghz/512gb/dgpu apple on weekend $1949. when browsing ebay found same model lightly used in excellent shape (6 cycles on battery) apple care mid 2019 $1599. $400 savings (considering tax). there no way know how old/used is.

decided better deal , canceled 15" refurb , apple going reroute them , refund sale. looks didn't reroute delivered.

considering keeping refurb, should new , eat return shipping on 1 ebay (i might reroute sender).

priorities have clean machine reliable 18-24 months. apple store 30 minutes away , work keeps me busy trip there hard outside of weekend. while amount of video editing, of work podcast production. business expense. do?
 

18-24 months? i'd keep refurb , buy ac (now ac+) it. imho there's can go wrong current laptop 15" rmbp take gamble on 24 month purchase warranty going expire 25% of way through expected service life.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
