Apple to Stop Accepting Updates to watchOS 1 Apps on April 1, 2018

apple today reminded developers update apple watch apps take advantage of features introduced in watchos 4 , apple watch series 3, increased performance, new background modes navigation , audio recording, direct connections core bluetooth, , more.

apple announced starting on april 1, 2018, updates watchos 1 apps no longer accepted. updates must native apps built watchos 2 sdk or later. newly submitted watchos apps should built watchos 4 sdk or later.

apple first began requiring new apps use watchos 2 sdk in june of 2016, , apply app updates submitted. watchos 1 apps not rebuilt using watchos 2 sdks or later no longer able updated after april 2018 deadline.

apps built native support features first introduced in watchos 2 able run more , operate more smoothly on apple watch.
