Invitation to Home failed

when try invite wife homekit app home in ios 11.1.2 following error message: “invitation failed not invite blah blah because apple id not registered icloud”. apple id fine. i’ve searched web high , low , can’t find solution. know what’s going on?

same thing here. have call support , supposed me week. have tried invitation both ways, signing out , icloud both ways. resetting home on both devices. turning off , on imessage , facetime, restarting both devices etc etc.
